"Writers in the Raw" features Dan Bern among others.  According to the Washington Post, Bern's new album, "Breathe" isn't as funny or as angry as his first work.  However it does feature a new version of Chelsea Hotel.

"Bob Dylan's American Journey, 1956-1966" opens today. The exhibition blends historic artifacts— including handwritten lyrics and letters by Dylan, instruments, rare memorabilia, and photographs—and interpretive films featuring rare performance footage and interviews with Dylan and other artists. Listening stations feature selections from several albums of the period covered by the exhibit. The exhibit runs through January.

The London Terrace Street Fair is by far one of the best in the neighborhood.  One year, a vendor went back to her apartment and brought down her entire collection of books by Kawabata and sold them to us when she learned we were interested in Japanese writers.  Twenty-fourth Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues, NY NY
