Oxygen Network has announced it's line-up for 2007 and in the works is an hour scripted mystery drama based on former Hotel Chelsea resident Sparkle Hayter's Robin Hudson Mysteries (Sparkle & Victor Navasky at a Hotel Chelsea party last year.)
1. How does it feel to have your work move from the page to the screen?
We'll see how it feels when it does hit the screen. In Hollywood, you can't bank on anything until you see those flickering images for real. Other writers have told me that it is a strange feeling to see your work brought to visual life that way. It fees good to work with these people though. they have been exceptional.
2. Will the Chelsea Girl Murders be part of the series?
Hmm. Maybe. That's not up to me, but I would love that if it happened. Maybe Stanley can play himself.
3. For those of us who don't have a TV, when is your next book scheduled to appear?
TBA. I just finished it, and it will likely be the last in the Hudson series. This book was inspired by a short story I wrote about the Chelsea for an anthology Vox 'n Roll in 1999. That in turn was inspired by a real incident at the Chelsea involving a woman who dumped a cat on me, ostensibly for a weekend. But she never returned. I'll keep you posted.
4. Do you have a message for your many fans here at the Chelsea?
Save the Chelsea.!
