Our Esteemed Proprietor Kicks Up His Heels

Chelsea Hotel resident and painter David Remfry's work is the subject of an exhibit currently underway at Ferens Art Gallery in Hull.  You can get a better view of the paintings shown in the photo if you click on the image. The woman wearing the top hat is our esteemed telephone operator of many years, Bonnie Kendall. Remfry's speciality is dancers.  "For the past year and a half, Stanley Bard, for more than 40 years manager of the Chelsea Hotel and a keen host to the writers and artists in his building, has been posing with his girlfriend. "I clear a corner of the studio and they come in every Friday morning for an hour, put on some Frank Sinatra or Neil Diamond, and get quite lost dancing.
