In a couple of years there will be a new book to add to the "Fiction & Non Fiction Set in the Chelsea" book roll.
Author of February House (a book about a group of fabulous bohemians living in Brooklyn)Sherill Tippins' INSIDE THE DREAM PALACE, a history of New York's legendary Chelsea Hotel, to Deanne Urmy at Houghton Mifflin, for publication in fall 2007, by Gail Ross at the Gail Ross Literary Agency (world English). I'm already on pins and needles. By fall 2007, my nails will be bitten down to a quick. I wasn't able to score an interview with Tippins, "I'll have more to tell you later," she said. Over at Books I Won't be Reading Blog they ask, "Who, outside of NYC, will buy this book?" Now that sounds like a question Stanley Bard would love to answer. We've all heard him say it a hundred times "This Hotel is the most important building in the world." Therefore, everyone will buy this book.
In the meantime, I could add another category to the blog "Unpublished Manuscripts Set In and Around the Chelsea (The Broken Dream Palace)," but I'm afraid the list would be too long.
