I Can No Longer Hear the Guitar is about director Philippe Garrell's love affair with former resident Nico. Between 1972 and 1979 she starred in seven of Garrell's films, but she is probably best known for trimming her bangs for 45 minutes in Andy Warhol's classic, Chelsea Girls.

You need to be in Seattle for this one. Author Charles Cross reads from his new biography of Jimi Hendrix. The press release, which was one of the top entertainment stories on Yahoo last week, mentioned Jimi's stop over at the Chelsea Hotel. On his way to the Monterey Pop Festival in summer 1967, he was mistaken for a bellhop by a woman at the Chelsea Hotel during a layover in New York. (Photo: Jimi and girlfriend Devon Wilson, whom it has been rumored plunged to her death from a window in the Chelsea in 1971. Strangely, I couldn't find an obituary for Devon in the NYT.)

McBurney YMCA fitness instructor, Miranda, is starring in a show at the Fringe Festival. "This Isn't Working," is a series of three comedic stories with office life as the theme. Sadly, the historic McBurney Y, formerly located directly across from the Chelsea, is merely a shell of it's former self. The building is now called The Y Building and houses condos and the David Barton Gym.
