The trendy David Barton Gym, located in the historic McBurney YMCA building directly across from the Hotel Chelsea, is being sued by a member because of purported sexual activity in the steam room. The YMCA has a rich sexual history. After all, The Village People were reportedly inspired by the fun atmosphere of the McBurney to write their monster hit “YMCA.”
Leonard Cohen has been charged with extortion. Mere speculation on my part, but I bet we will soon hear about a countersuit.
