So now the NYPD is taking orders directly from the capitalists. Awesome. Soon we can cut out the middleman, abolish government altogether so it’s finally transparent as to who’s really calling the shots.
I’m referring, of course to a recent incident in which Chelsea resident Jeff Boyle called Valley National Bank CEO Gerald Lipkin at 5 a.m. to protest the illegally –early start time for construction of a bank branch on West 18th Street. Incensed, Lipkin sent an un-named NYPD detective to Boyle’s house to harass him.
Seriously folks, shouldn’t this be investigated as an incidence of corruption? Boyle committed no crime. The public needs to know the name of the detective involved, and what exactly his connection is to Lipkin’s Bank. Does the NYPD really have nothing better to do than to harass a man who’s understandably upset over being woken up at 5 a.m. by construction noise? How about investigating the construction company – which is not supposed to start until 7:00 a.m.? -- Ed Hamilton
He should have called the construction company, 311, or the police themselves. He knew it was a risky, daring statement to make, and he should be willing to take the heat for doing it.
