With so many fast food franchises sprouting up in Chelsea, Seventh Avenue
is beginning to look like a food court at the mall. One of the newest, Supermac, a tiny storefront between 30th and 29th Streets, specializes in mac 'n' cheese.
But they do it well. Their menu sports 11 different versions--everything from the classic elbows with cheddar, to an angus beef with cheese, tomatoes and onions. There's even a Lobster Therimdore with brie and mascarpone. The cheese is just right--not runny or chalky. A whole wheat variety is available for those non-purist types. Neither the space nor the decor invites a sit down dinner, but they deliver. Not only that, but when I placed my order in person, they prepared mine before the delivery orders. Now that's service.--Sherry Mazzocchi
